In joke

“Man someone’s gotta take that.”…“And wandering around at night with fencing gear is a good idea?”…“I just don’t get it.”…“We’re mac ninjas. We love them.” Random snatches of conversation mingle with the warmth of the summer we never had and the sizzling of quickly crisping sausages. This is my Friday afternoon, these are my friends and captured within and around them are unique moments in time.

Friends, Fridays and Freedom is a series of three photographs which depict relaxed and unique interactions between diverse individuals and is based around the theme of friendship. Every one of my friends is a reflection of diversity in their own unique way and it is these differences that I appreciate every day. There are no shallow stereotypes in any of them. Diverse individualism is accepted as a unique quality which is part of the interactions between all of us.

In joke is the captured essence of that beautiful moment just as everyone breaks into united laughter. The joke ends up long forgotten but what remains is the harmony amongst friends. I’ve no idea what they were all laughing about but the infectious quality of my friend’s laughter had me smiling behind the camera.
