Gah, why does deviantart make my uploads look all washed out! I've just uploaded a new photo, Run, rabbit but it just isn't as sharp as it was in Photoshop Anyway, please go and check it out and tell me what you think. I'm still not quite happy with it but I don't want to over do it either. Still, I am fairly pleased with how it turned out.

As you can probably tell from the main subject matter of my most recent photos, we are now the proud owners of a new kitten. Her name is Mia and she's absolutely gorgeous (as any proud parent would say).

It has been over a year since I have updated and really used this thing. Epic fail there.

What design related things have happened in the past year? Well, I've had the amazingly good fortune of landing a couple of design jobs, become disillusioned by business and commercialism, tutored people and realised I have an inbuilt 'must-help-people' mechanism in me that I can't turn off, have become interested in community work involving design, taken gazbillions of photos and then edited basically none of them, become more interested in doing honours and the possible projects I could do for that, designed plenty of stuff that now looks like crap and learned a whole heap more about the world of design. Still, there is so much more to learn so will have to make sure I get more stuff up here more often so I can improve my design and photography.

So in the spirit of starting this off, I've uploaded two new photos. Check out Vibrance and Warning Signs. Both are totally different from each other but they're the two that I'm happy with so far from the couple of thousand photos I've shot over the past year.

Am following and providing all the details on my costume for 's party. Am kinda glad I didn't blow nearly a grand on a leather corset and skirt but one day I will Costume pieces and details below.

Boots: check (absolutely deadly, with buckles and lovely high stiletto heel)
Fishnets: check (classic deadly)
Skirt: getting tomorrow (backup in place)
Corset: check (x2, just have to decide which one to wear now. The actual corset with boning {sort of}, lace up back, hook and eye front and lace or simple corset style top with more bust shape)
Jacket: check (vinyl, fuck yeah)
Gloves: check (leather, mmmmm)

Costume: $220+. Walking distance covered: 10km+. Looking deadly: Priceless.

Also in place is a back up dress with the more common high neck style that Black Canary is often seen wearing. However, as I bought this at a sex shop and it is skin tight with a hook and eye split right down the side I probably won't be wearing this.

All that is left is the hair and make up, which will be done on the day. Here's hoping hockey doesn't get in the way too much.

Should I add a simple black choker?

Tutorials are funny things. It's near useless to follow them word for word because you learn nothing and end up with a piece that isn't yours. Whereas if you use them more as a guide, taking the bits you want and ditching others, then you end up learning a whole heap and producing a piece that you can actually call yours. Even if a large chunk of inspiration came from said tutorial. They're basically the online version of tutors and lecturers; there to show you the door but not to guide you through it.

Transformers have currently taken over my obsessions. One day I would love to do a Transformers piece. Though I think my hand would drop off and I would keel over after finishing it. The goal is going to stay with me and one day I will do it. When I possess more Photoshop ninja skills.
